Making Minimalism P O P

In the most recent WSJ Magazine Travel is the focus of the magazine and the majority of articles. One such article featured black and white outfits against strongly colorful architecture walls. The results of white against shocking pink or tan against red is striking so I decided to attempt this idea with a minimal outfit of my own.

Perhaps I have been swinging too far away from my normal colorful wardrobe palate with lots of black, white and neutrals lately but there is something so very crisp and clean about this simplicity that I think draws more attention to the cut of a garment and the details. This isn't to say I am mimicking other bloggers and cutting color out of my wardrobe but let's just say I am experimenting. My latest favorite: mixing textures of similar colors to add interest such as this 3D dotted skirt with a heavy knit sweater since that add enough interest to create a cohesive look. Then, when photographing, add a pop of color via your surroundings like this blue wall and watch the details come to life. Have a fantastic Monday and get inspired with similar pieces below.
